ODM Under Fire as Senator Onyonka Demands Answers Over Rising Abductions

The ODM Party is facing severe backlash following its silence on the ongoing wave of abductions affecting young Kenyans. On Wednesday, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka voiced his concerns, questioning why the party has failed to address the disturbing trend.

Onyonka expressed confusion over ODM's lack of response, asking if the party's alliance with President Ruto in the broad-based government meant they had abandoned the Kenyan people. "Why is ODM silent on the abductions sweeping across the country? Have they joined forces with Ruto in a broad-based abduction effort?" he asked, demanding clarity from the coalition.

The senator further vowed to ensure that those responsible for the abductions are brought to justice, calling for accountability as the country continues to suffer under this troubling crisis. Onyonka's statement comes after the reported abduction of a 20-year-old girl, allegedly for using an AI-generated image of President Ruto inappropriately, which further fueled concerns.

The senator’s remarks have ignited a wider debate on the government's response to the growing issue of abductions and the role of political parties in addressing the crisis.
