Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has dismissed Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka’s call for the ODM Party to speak out against the ongoing abductions in the country. Alai argued that Onyonka's request for ODM to address the issue will not succeed, as many members of the party are not actively participating in serious political discussions. Instead, they are preoccupied with posting offensive images of President Ruto on social media.
In his response, Alai emphasized that the ODM Party is unlikely to shift its focus towards critical issues like abductions while its members remain engaged in online attacks. He further criticized Kenyans, particularly young people, for their behavior on social media. Alai claimed that despite his warnings, many continue to share AI-generated images of President Ruto, showing a lack of respect for authority and leadership.
Alai's comments come in the wake of Senator Onyonka's plea for ODM to take a firm stance on the abductions and urge the president to intervene. Onyonka had called for the government to take stronger action to stop the illegal detentions of Kenyans, but Alai’s remarks suggest the issue may remain sidelined due to the party’s internal divisions and online distractions.
