Sport CS Kipchumba Murkomen fired back at Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei on Friday after the senator called for his dismissal from President Ruto's cabinet. In a statement, Murkomen expressed confusion over Cherargei’s continued criticism, accusing him of making baseless allegations aimed at undermining his reputation and eroding public trust.
Murkomen questioned, "What did I do to you, and what sparked this disagreement?" He emphasized that he had always respected Cherargei and never criticized his work for the people of Nandi. The CS believes the senator’s calls for his removal are politically motivated, driven by those seeking to eliminate him from Ruto's cabinet through bribery and manipulation.
Murkomen also recalled a past event in Eldoret where a group of unruly youths disrupted his meeting. He claimed the same individuals, allegedly backed by Cherargei’s sponsors, were responsible for the chaos.
