Ichung'wah Links Gachagua and Prominent Politicians to Abductions, Calls for Immediate Action

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah has made explosive allegations against Rigathi Gachagua and other prominent politicians, accusing them of orchestrating abductions and torture across the country. Speaking on Friday during the burial of Moses Wetangula's mother in Bungoma County, Ichung'wah called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to take swift action.

In his statement, Ichung'wah claimed that these abductions are part of a larger scheme to tarnish the image of President William Ruto's administration.

"Rigathi Gachagua and some politicians are behind the abductions and torture of our youth. Their aim is to create unrest and blame the president for the chaos. We cannot allow this to continue. The DCI must act immediately to arrest them," Ichung'wah declared.

The MP further vowed to reveal the identities of other individuals allegedly involved in the scheme, urging Kenyans to stand united against these actions.

A Divided Opinion

Ichung'wah’s remarks come just days after he controversially suggested that some of the "abducted" youths were, in fact, hiding in Airbnbs with their girlfriends. His comments have sparked mixed reactions across the political spectrum.

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and other leaders have vehemently dismissed Ichung'wah's allegations, instead blaming the government for the spate of abductions.

Natembeya argued that the administration must take responsibility for the safety of its citizens, adding that the claims against Gachagua lack credible evidence.

"This is not about pointing fingers at individuals without proof. The government must step up and ensure the safety of Kenyans," Natembeya countered.

Rising Concerns

The allegations come at a time of heightened tension in the country, with reports of abductions causing widespread fear and outrage. Activists and civil society groups have urged authorities to investigate the claims thoroughly and ensure justice for victims.
