The government has announced a major recruitment drive under the "Kazi Majuu" initiative, offering Kenyan youth opportunities to work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The jobs, which include roles like masons, electricians, carpenters, and plumbers, promise salaries ranging between Ksh 35,000 and Ksh 52,000 per month.
Benefits and Eligibility
Workers will enjoy free transport, a food allowance, medical cover, and one day off each week. The two-year renewable contracts will place successful candidates in one of the six emirates of the UAE.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Be under 41 years of age.
Hold professional certificates relevant to the advertised positions.
Have clearance from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Recruitment Details
The recruitment is spearheaded by the State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in partnership with Bluewave International Services Limited, an accredited agency working with UAE-based Right Force Manpower Services L.L.C.
The process will be hosted at Nyeri National Polytechnic, with support from local TVET institutions to mobilize youth from surrounding areas.
Government Support
TVET PS Dr. Esther Mworia emphasized the importance of institutions in creating international employment opportunities to address Kenya's rising youth unemployment. “Labour mobility is a strategic intervention to bridge skills gaps globally while fostering economic growth,” she said.
For those unable to afford airfare, arrangements are being made to provide loans through the Youth Enterprise Fund, with repayment plans once they begin earning abroad.
A Fair and Transparent Process
Bluewave International Managing Director Amos Mbugua assured applicants of a fair process, urging eligible individuals to seize this opportunity. He added that efforts are being made to expedite clearance certificates for those lacking the required documents.
Last year, similar initiatives saw 300 individuals recruited to work in Qatar. This year, the government aims to place at least 10,000 Kenyans in UAE’s construction sector.
Interested applicants are encouraged to prepare their documents and attend the recruitment exercise for a chance to secure life-changing opportunities.
