Kimani Ichungwa Criticizes Youths Allegedly Abducted, Urges Parents to Take Responsibility

On Wednesday, Minority Whip Kimani Ichungwa made strong remarks about the youths recently reported as having been abducted. In a public statement, Ichungwa challenged the reports, asserting that the youths were not abducted but were instead staying in Airbnbs in Nairobi with their girlfriends.

Ichungwa urged parents of the allegedly abducted youths to cease criticizing the government and take a proactive role in locating their children. He suggested that these young individuals were simply hiding out in various accommodations in Nairobi, and he advised parents to search for them in these areas to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

"The government has no involvement with youths who are posting provocative content, undermining the President. Parents need to understand that their children are not victims of abduction but are likely hiding in Airbnbs. It is their responsibility to seek them out in these places," Ichungwa stated.

The lawmaker further criticized the youths for causing unnecessary distress to their families. He expressed frustration over the misleading reports of abductions, which have caused significant concern among parents. Ichungwa emphasized that once the youths are located, they should be held accountable for their actions.

"Shame on those responsible for misleading their parents and causing them undue worry. I fail to understand why they would create such turmoil, believing that they have been abducted while, in reality, they are spending time with their girlfriends. These youths should be held accountable for their behavior," Ichungwa remarked.

Ichungwa’s comments have sparked considerable debate, with many questioning the nature of the youths' actions and the wider implications for both family responsibility and government accountability.
