Lawyer Omari Kicked Out of Court During Abduction Case Hearing

In a dramatic turn of events on Wednesday, lawyer Danstan Omari was ordered to leave a court hearing involving security chiefs and agencies linked to the disappearance of youths. The incident occurred when Omari, representing Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, attempted to interrupt another lawyer's statement during the proceedings.

Justice Bahati Mwamuye, overseeing the case, had to intervene after Omari tried to interject while lawyer Evans Ogada from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) was making an oral application. Ogada had requested that the hearing be paused until Police IG Douglas Kanja, who had been ordered by the court to be personally present, appeared.

The judge told Omari to wait until Ogada had finished speaking, but when Omari stood up to respond, Justice Mwamuye instructed him to leave the courtroom.

"Mr. Omari, you can take your leave," the judge said firmly. Omari initially hesitated, requesting to stay and observe, but the judge remained resolute.

"You are represented by counsel Samson Nyaberi, and there will be no prejudice," Mwamuye explained, confirming that Omari's suspension for the day stood.

Despite the interruption, Lawyer Paul Nyamodi, representing IG Kanja, clarified that both Kanja and the DCI were ready to attend but had been called away due to an urgent security matter.
