The unrest, which occurred in Duka Moja along the Narok-Kisii road, resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left one police officer seriously injured.
The incident began when a vehicle struck and killed over 40 sheep the previous night. Angered by the loss, residents organized a protest. Tensions rose when police attempted to clear the carcasses from the road, and the protesters confronted the officers. During the altercation, one officer was severely injured, and his firearm was taken.
The protests caused significant disruptions to traffic, with vehicles halted for hours. Local residents voiced frustration over the incident and demanded further action from authorities. The injured officer was taken to Nairobi for medical treatment, and investigations have been launched regarding the stolen weapon.
