The family of the late Malava MP, Moses Injendi Malulu, has declared that only President William Ruto, the family, and the church will speak at his burial ceremony on March 4.
Melvin Malulu, the late MP’s son, clarified during a requiem service in Kakamega that the event would not be used for political purposes. Politicians will have the opportunity to offer condolence messages on March 3, a day before the burial.
The funeral will take place at the late MP’s home in Malava, Kakamega. President Ruto has also offered to help transport the body from Nairobi to Malava.
Farouk Kibet, Ruto's aide, supported the family’s wishes, urging politicians to refrain from using the funeral as a political platform and instead ensure a peaceful ceremony.
This announcement comes after recent controversies at other funerals, where political leaders engaged in heated exchanges over sensitive issues, such as the ongoing abductions and government policies.
