In a crucial event on Friday, the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Health, Aden Duale, revealed that cartels, who own clinics in major estates across the country, are actively working to undermine the success of the State Health Authority (SHA).
CS Duale assured Kenyans that SHA plans to extend its services to 60% of the clinics nationwide, and once this happens, all clinics owned by these cartels will be permanently shut down. He emphasized that these cartels do not want SHA to succeed, as it threatens their lucrative business of providing costly medical services to the public.
Duale urged all Kenyans to embrace SHA by ensuring they are registered in the system. He further reassured the public that the government will cover medical bills for individuals who are part of the SHA system, emphasizing that no Kenyan should be left behind.
In his address, CS Duale highlighted that his primary mission as the CS for Health is to dismantle the cartels that are obstructing the progress of SHA.
