Speaking at an event in Trans Nzoia County on Saturday, Governor George Natembeya informed Kenyans that his life is in danger and that something unfortunate could happen to him at any time.
The governor claimed that he narrowly escaped death after being attacked by individuals whom he believes were sponsored by the government during his visits to multiple events in the western region.
He expressed that he is now living in fear for his life, stating that he has become a target and accusing the state of attempting to silence him politically through these goons.
According to Natembeya, the government is hiring these individuals to ambush him because of his repeated criticisms of the administration for failing to fulfill its campaign promises to the people of Kenya.
The governor revealed that he will continue calling out the government to ensure it does what Kenyans expect of it. He declared that he will not stop criticizing the government and even left a message for his family in case anything happens to him.
He urged his family to stand firm with Kenyans in holding the government accountable, especially in addressing the critical issues undermining the country.
