On Saturday, former Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko issued a warning to Kenyans traveling to attend the burial of MP Beatrice Elachi's son.
In a statement on his X account, Mike Sonko revealed that a river along the route has weakened due to heavy rainfall, causing flooding on the way to the burial ceremony.
Sonko urged travelers to drive cautiously, advising them not to overspeed as the conditions could worsen. The former governor emphasized the importance of safety on the roads, especially as many people rush to attend the funeral of the lawmaker’s son, who tragically passed away two days ago.
Elachi’s son was reportedly involved in a fatal accident while returning home after attending a personal function late in the evening.
His life ended in the ICU after he succumbed to several injuries. It was reported that his brain was severely damaged during the fatal crash.
