In a statement made on Saturday, Azimio leader Raila Odinga explained why President William Ruto will not serve a single term. He emphasized that he will not allow Ruto to leave office unless the issues facing Kenyans are addressed.
Raila urged the public to hold Ruto accountable, saying, "I hear some people saying 'Ruto must go.' Go where? He hasn't fulfilled the promises he made to Kenyans during his campaign. He must first be clear with the people before stepping down from office, and that is what everyone is hoping for."
Additionally, Raila clarified that his decision to engage with the Kenya Kwanza government should not be seen as a betrayal of the people of Kenya. He explained that he had no choice but to work with the government to ensure that the concerns of Kenyans are heard and addressed.
He also noted that being inside the government provides a better opportunity to address the nation's issues compared to being outside of it.
