In a strong response to Kisii Senator’s recent comments, a close ally of President Ruto, Robert Alai advised him to steer clear of criminal activities if he wished to avoid arrest. The senator had proposed that the Senate and Parliament should defend individuals arrested and charged with alleged offenses.
Ruto's ally firmly rejected this notion, stating that the government would not intervene to protect anyone found guilty of criminal acts.
“If you don’t want to be arrested, avoid engaging in criminal activities such as inciting violence or attacking the government,” the ally warned.
The ally emphasized that the government does not arrest people by mistake, noting that those detained are typically found guilty of breaking the law.
He further cautioned the senator against defending individuals he deemed lawbreakers, warning that this stance could lead to serious consequences for him.
