Ruto's Ally Calls on MPs to Intervene and Save Suspect from Death Penalty

On Saturday, a close ally of President Ruto, known as Baba wa Roma, made a passionate appeal to all Members of Parliament, urging them to unite in efforts to save a suspect sentenced to death.

The individual was found guilty of trafficking illegal medicines, and despite being seen as innocent by some, the court has ruled that the death penalty will be carried out.

Baba wa Roma expressed concern over the fairness of the ruling, emphasizing that lawmakers must intervene. "We, as legislators, need to explore ways to block this sentence," he said. He also revealed plans to send a letter to the court, appealing for an alternative to the death penalty.

The suspect is scheduled to be executed by hanging on Monday. Ruto's ally has strongly criticized the death sentence, calling for the court to reconsider and grant the suspect freedom instead.
