In Nakuru County, the OCS and his team of police officers have questions to answer after an autopsy shows that the suspect by the name of Kiprotich died by internal bleeding.
According to the report, the suspect was badly tortured while in a police cell, whereby his ribs were broken after being hit with a heavy object, causing internal bleeding, which later resulted in the suspect's death.
The police officers have earlier claimed that they didn't take the law into their hands or harm the suspect while he was in custody.
They further contended that they were carrying out investigations to find out what killed the suspect who was being detained in custody and set to be presented in court.
"It is unfortunate that the suspect who we have arrested and put in custody has been found dead. The police officer is doing the investigation to find out what happened and what killed him, and we are in shock," Police OCS recently said.
However, the family of the victim has been asking for justice for their son, claiming that he was arrested by the police for no valid reason.
They also revealed that they were shocked to be informed their son, who was in custody, had been found dead, and what claimed his life was not disclosed by the officers.
"He was arrested in the morning, and as we struggle to find money to release him on cash bail, we are being told he is dead, and what killed him is not disclosed to us. What we want is justice for our son," the deceased mother said.
